The Umayyad Mosque in Damascus is an amazing place. It dates back to 705 AD. The northern part is an open courtyard, with marble floor and a two-storey arcade. The prayer hall is in the southern side of the courtyard and in the centre there is a fountain. The mosque has three minarets
